... continued

On the right here is a weird... thing! A caged head to show that is mysterious or crazy in the sense it needs to be locked up for security. A long and powerful fail can grip and even strangle whatever it attacks. Tentacles on it's cage can stretch out to grab or strangle victims and pull them closer.

On the left is quite a fast and skillful creature in which it can roll into a ball and hide or even to attack. It spits black burning acid and can swing its head to clear the limb off anyone!

Silent Hill Sketches Part 2

Here are some of my own sketches and designs inspired by the franchise...
On the left is a creature that has 4 legs and can blend itself with pipework and can be fatal if it swings a leg and hits you! Clobbers you with hammer hands!

On the right is a page to look burnt!

Here is a worm creature, but kinda like alien, it has a mouth within a mouth on either side- jumps high and can devour anything!

Aerosmith

I thought I'd try and do character versions of some of the band members out of Aerosmith...

Coming Soon...

Well its been a big update after a quiet two months, but I can assure you there is more to come, from character designs to Observational sketches :)

Dragons!

Whilst working on a theme of animals and nature, I looked into mythical creatures. Mainly dragons because they are badass and finely detailed whether it be in the facial expression, skull, skin or wings. Here are a couple of sketches.

Silent Hill Sketches Part 1

During my art course at college, I did a module that was inspired by the Silent Hill franchise. These pictures will be familiar to those who know the territory of Silent Hill. Pictures include Pyramid Head and a screenshot from the fourth game where protagonist Alex Sheppard fights a nurse.
I eventually led on to create my own pieces of work inspired by the nature of the series: these shall be posted soon...

Life Drawing

More recently I've been attempting life drawings, starting with myself as seen on the first post of this album, I then had a go at drawing TV show characters Sam and Dean from the show 'Supernatural'

I then proceeded into drawing friends of mine, and my proudest drawing has to be one of my life long friend
Various sketches of Simpsons characters. I also did tablet work for a small project involving the simpsons which I dedicated a site to.

Then I have added a variety of hand sketches

Myself

Here are a couple of drawings of myself, a recent drawing used with a Wacom tablet, and the other an old drawing from when I was in college

*About Me*

My name is Mike McCallin and I'm an animator. Drawing has been a hobby of mine since I was young as since then I've produced a lot of drawings, even if they're not my own designs. I practiced drawing with 'Learn to Draw' Books from Disney characters and most recently The Simpsons.

It is only recently that I've started to really advance and create my own characters with their own style and animate them.

I use software such as Toon Boom, Flash, Maya and After Effects as well as stick to traditional 2D hand drawn.

I've taken art courses throughout my life- so this blog is going to be my online album. A showcase of various drawings by me. Welcome to my artistic side!
